Pink stupid girls video

One of the first images is a young girl with a devil and an angel on either of her shoulders. This sets a question for the young girl. Will she choose right or wrong? This will only be regonised in the western world or for Christian believers. This is because the Devil and God are right and wrong in these beliefs. I have seen this done before in cartoons, where the chrachter has to make a choice betweeen good and evil. This may not be understood by people in the eastern world as some religions have many Gods, so they would not understand this set up that have been ude in this video, created by special effects.

Here Pink is stood in a suit which the Western world reads as formal clothing, that is associated with busiiness, intervies etc so from this we already know this is a more serious message. The camera angle is looking up at her giving her height and making her look more dominence in this scene. This makes her look strong and as if she is a leader of some sort. With the american flag behind her the western world will recognise this to be some sort of political stand as this is often a technique used by politians when running for e.g President. From this I have understood that the video is giving to options to where this young girl could chose to go in her life e.g run for president or be seen as a sexual object.

50 cent video

Pink dress in very sexual in this part of the video, her clothes are tight fitting and short. Emphasising her waist/breasts/ body etc. her face is hidden under a hat so she is litereally viewed for just her body. Dancing next to a male figure who looks like what the western world would recognise as a gangster due to his fur coat, tattoos, cap and gold jewellry, often a lifestyle that is associated with lack of education and crime. This is because gangsters such as 50 are associated with gangs, have expressed their poor under priveledge upbringings. So this is the other direction that the video is 'offering' to the young girl, become a strong political/business woman who has strength power and money, or become a sexual object who socialises with gangsters.

The carwash scene is actually a rip off of the Jessica Simpson video for 'These boots are made for walking' In tis video JS is wearing very little clothing, a bikini in fact, supposedly washing a car, which is just a prop to show of here toned body and curves that she has. Its clear that Pink has seen this video and feels it is negetive due to the young audience it is aimed at and how slim she actually is. Pink is seen with the same set up in her video (a car, sponge and soap) but she is actually mocking Jessica Simpson behaving like her but in a very emphasised way. Implying that she is just a sexual object and nothing else. She poses and pouts and slides all over the car following the camera  so all of her is captures.

Towards the end of the video an 'older version' of what a lot of girls look like is shown. An old woman dress in a pink tracksuits with mangey peroxide hair and orange skin and skin damage(associated with all the sun beds and tanning that she has undergone.) This is telling the young girl/audience if you chose or continue to have this lifestyle then this is how you will end up. Focusing on all the negative issues raised previously in the video.

The end, the young girl chose what the video believes is correct. Not the negative lifestyle of being an airhead with a fake tan and eating disorders but to just go out and her fun i.e the young girl picks up the football and heads out to play. The viewers know that this is the right disition from the special effects that are used. The devil is angry and dissapears, whilst the the God like person cheers which is often associated with winning.

Gillian Rose's method- The Mona Lisa

The site of the production of an object image etc

How was it made?
It was an oil pianting, made by an artist

Using what methods tools and what kinds of technology?
Because of its age technology was extremely basic, this painting was drawn by hand and then painted. The process took several years.

Is it identifiable to a particular genre?
It is identifiable to many people all over the world (aslong as they have acess to the internet, news, media etc.) It has been known as 'the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world'

The Mona Lisa is kept at the museum de Louvre in Paris which has over visitors a year, therefore is seen by many tourists of all ages from all over the world.

Who made it?
Leonardo Da Vinci

Where?
France

When?
Between 1503-1506

Why did they make it?
I believe it was made for money, I think this because Leonardo Di Vinci's proffession was an artist, and therfore tried to make a living off this. I do not believe it was made for just anybody. It was property of king's of royaly and therefore made for a wealthy client such as this.

Who was it made for?
I believe a wealthy client.

What else was made at the same time?
There were many artists around this time especially in Paris. Here a few from that period:
Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Donato Bramante, Giorgione, Titan, Fra Bartolomeo,
Mariotto Albertinelli, Andrea Del Sarto, and Correggio

The site of the image
The use of colour, tone, texture
It is very dark, although I feel it may have become darker through time as it is over 500 years old. There are dark colours used such as brown/black. There is a thickness, a depth to the texture of the image wgich has been acheived from using oil paints.
Its content, function
It dos nt really have a 'function' as it is a peice of artwork, which to me is for people of any any or backgroung, to enjoy, read, and enjoy. To evoke a feeling as such.

How does the image relate to its social context?
These sorts of paintings i.e using oil paints and drawing portraits of woman were popular at this time. As I have siad there were many artists around in this era also. Painting was very popular especially portraits as people had no other way of capturing a moment, a scene and what people looked liked. This could then be used to communicate not just wher it was made but other countries too.

The site of the audience
Has it been displayed and where? The Louvre Museum in Paris
How has it been circulated? Many reprints have been made on postcards, calenders and prints on canvass mainly for tourist reasons.
Are there multiple images, or just one? There is only one of this image. The original is kept in the museum, although there are rumours that the painting on display is actually a copy and the original is kept in a vault underneath the museum.
Who is the audience? Is there more then one? tourists? art lovers? Both tourists, art lovers and historians. I feel alot of its interest today is to do with how old it is and the what it tells people about that era.
